I realized this morning that I had created this blog way back when and have hardly ever updated it. So here's to trying to update it more often in 2010. Our lives aren't too exciting, as it is just Chad and I right now.
Since the last update, Chad turned 24 in September....which he got a pair of Bears/Bengals tickets for the weekend in October. We went to Ohio to visit Autumn for her 9th birthday which just so happened to be the weekend of the Bears/Bengals game. Too bad the Bears had a TERRIBLE season this year. :( The weekend however, was very nice since the Taylor's moved back up north this fall, it will be easier to visit more frequently.
In November, we got our first puppy!!! A blonde miniature dachshund, named Linus. We picked him out of the litter and then had to wait until the Saturday before Thanksgiving to bring him home. He's been a handful, but is too cute (or at least that's what I think of him)! The Taylor's also came for a visit over Thanksgiving. We visited Chicago, had Gino's East Pizza and even did a little Black Friday shopping! :)
In December, obviously a busy month! Marc turned 25, we had our "first" Christmas together as a married couple, we had our first holiday time sharing, we visited Ohio (Linus' first LONG car ride), Liz turned 24 and we welcomed the new year! Happy 2010!!! It was a VERY busy month, but it was also very nice. Chad took the last week of December off to spend time with me, which was really great because it seems like the work schedules keep us from spending as much quality time together as we could be. I think Linus also appreciated the fact that he wasn't home alone and could spend a lot of time with us and visiting his friends (Gracie, Wrigley and Leggs). Linus also met Mira, Scottie, DJ and Mousse...which seemed to be people more on his level because they aren't as big as the rest of us. I don't think Cassie liked Linus as much as Linus wanted to play with her, while we were in Ohio.
It's now January 2010! Holy cow! Where is time going?! My cousin Matt and his wife Erika are expecting in February and we had a baby shower for them last week. It was really small, but very nice. Can't wait to find out what they are having--they wanted it to be a surprise to all!
I started my Masters in Reading Instruction last week....it's going to be a LOT of work, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end. My professor for this first classs is REALLY old, but she's sweet, so hopefully I can learn a lot from her.
Chad is working long hours still...although not quite as long as they used to be. Which is really nice to have him home more. We've both been fighting lots of sinus infections and had to have CT scans to determine if something is wrong that needs to be fixed surgically. Chad goes for his check up tomorrow and I go later in the week. Hopefully we get good news and can get over the stupid sicknesses! The sinus pressure is probably making everything seem a lot worse than it truly is right now.
We have booked our trip for Arizona for the last part of Spring Break in March so that we can go see the Reds and Cubs play their spring training games. We will catch the last few games before opening day. We are excited to take a real vacation since our honeymoon!
Well, I must go be productive now, but here are some pictures of the end of the year for us!
